Vincent Tobin Memorial Scholarship

The Vincent Tobin memorial scholarship is available for students attending the Human Services/Social Work A.A. program, and/or the Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor certification program, and who agree to obtain LADC II certification upon completion of the program(s). A GPA of 3.0, financial need, and acceptance into the program are required.

Vincent’s formal higher education began at Springfield Technical Community College during the mid 1980s, where he completed coursework while working full-time and raising a family. Vincent worked as a licensed alcohol and drug counselor and administrator, for over 30 years. Working in various treatment settings, ranging from residential programs to outpatient methadone treatment programs, Vincent had a passion for helping and advocating for the underserved, and believed that everyone should be given the opportunity and tools to succeed in their recovery. This scholarship is dedicated to his memory and aims to assist students in their pursuit of helping others recover from addiction.
